Charlotte Le Lievre + Double Dole Stringband in Bunbury

Froth Craft Brewery, 12 Victoria Street, Bunbury

Double Dole Stringband and Charlotte Le Lievre are bringing their driving old-time tunes and classic country songs to Froth Craft Brewery Bunbury. The show is part of a string of west coast tour dates as the bands make their way from Naarm/Melbourne to Nannup Music Festival.

Double Dole Stringband play innovative and driving old-time tunes. Holding down the fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, and vocals both sweet and rowdy, they've become stalwarts at venues around their borrowed hometown of Naarm/Melbourne, as well as folk festivals across the country. The band ventured into the studio in winter 2024 to record their debut full-length album, with the first single Lewin’s/Rusty’s set for release on Feb 14 2025. When they're not playing original tunes, you can find them calling high energy bushdances, running inclusive old-time sessions, and picking into the wee hours. Inspired by personal experience, political discourse, animus for police and love of native birds, DDSB will have you tapping your toes so hard you'll forget about your misspent taxes.

With her lilting voice and timeless sensibilities, Charlotte Le Lievre makes music that hits the heart in the unique tradition of classic country songwriters. Drawing upon an array of early country and folk styles, Charlotte wholeheartedly pays homage to the origins of this music, whilst offering up insightful commentary on contemporary dilemmas. Charlotte’s debut album ‘Songs from the Barrier Line’ was nominated for Best Country Work at the 2023 Music Victoria Awards and Contemporary Folk Music Album of the Year at the 2023 Australian Folk Music Awards.
